INFRAMAG for the future transport
It should be pointed out that the train in the picture can be seen as a pure illustration
The passenger transport line
It should be pointed out in order to get efficiency in passenger transport so should they operate their own high-speed line. The stations that shall
exist after the path does not have the same destinations as for freight transport.
Polar - Ore railway - goods railway
The track built on pillars and can also be served by regular trains. It should also be dimensioned to cope with the heavy goods transport, which would require the heavier track profiles and with an axle pressure of 35 tonnes.
To expand the track to be possible also with InfraMag is questionable as material from ore wagons (magnetic) can fall onto the track and cause problems with the magnetic track itself. Practical tests should be done to verify the possibilities if this is possible.
The table below shows the times for a high-speed train with a speed of 450 km/h
Departs | Arriving | ||
Luleå | 08.00 | Boden | 08. 07.04 |
Boden | 08.09.15 | Gällivare | 08.42.02 |
Gällivare | 08.44.15 | Kiruna | 09.03.13 |
Kiruna | 09.05.30 | Riksgränsen | 09.25.46 |
Riksgränse | 09.28 | Narvik | 09.37.03 |
This means that the entire journey from Luleå to Narvik takes 1 hour and 37 minutes including stops at 5 stations, the 5th being Narvik. It would thus be possible to maintain the daily traffic once every two hours between Luleå and Narvik. Should you wish to shorten the time, a meeting track can be arranged for about half the distance. There are opportunities to set up a radical and economical alternative even in the sparsely populated areas. In Gällivare, the inlans track also meets up, which is why it might be appropriate to have a meeting place there.
